MOVUS

A Movus game

Swim

A swimming race you do standing in your living room. Swim front crawl with your arms — reach over, catch, pull through — and race three swimmers to the wall. Rhythm wins: alternate arms and keep the stroke long.

How to play

The moves it reads.

Reach over

Bring one arm over your head and forward, like the recovery of a real stroke.

Pull through

Sweep it down past your hip. The game reads the fall of each hand, not its height.

Alternate

Left, right, left. Two strokes on the same arm count for half.

The workout

What Swim works.

Shoulders, upper back and arms through a full range of motion, with your core holding you steady — the arms of front crawl without the water.

*For a 35-year-old, 170 cm, 70 kg adult playing continuously. The app uses your own height, weight and age. How it is calculated.

Tips

  • Long strokes beat fast ones: flailing earns nothing.
  • Keep a steady beat — the game counts your stroke rate and rewards rhythm.
  • Stand side-on to nothing: face the phone squarely so it can see both arms.
  • Finish strong — the last length is where places change.

Questions

Swim FAQ

Does it work if I can't swim?

Yes. It reads the arm movement of front crawl; there is no water and nothing to learn except the rhythm.

Is it hard on the shoulders?

It takes your arms through a full overhead range for the length of a race. Go at your own pace and stop if anything hurts.

How long is a race?

Under a minute for a quick swimmer — long enough to feel it, short enough to go again.
